Dr. Mark Lomax, II is a composer, drummer, educator, and thought leader whose work bridges art, culture, and social transformation. Over more than 20 years, Dr. Lomax has become known for using music and storytelling to foster dialogue around radical humanity, social justice, and collective healing. His expertise extends beyond the stage—he’s a nationally respected voice in positive youth development, human-centered design, systems change, and philanthropy, drawing on extensive nonprofit leadership experience.

Dr. Lomax’s creative output is celebrated for its scope and impact. His landmark project, “400: An African Epic,” is a 12-album cycle that chronicles 400 years of the Black American journey, blending jazz, classical, and African diasporic traditions to connect audiences with history and the ongoing quest for justice. He channels this artistic vision into his talks, using performance and story to spark empathy and encourage transformative action.

He’s the author of the forthcoming books The Politics of Humanity and 5 Keys to Living, Loving, and Leading from the Inside Out, each offering his perspective on the essential role of radical humanity in personal and collective life.
